The idea of the association appeared when a number of the benevolent people of Dubai gathered, headed by the late Eid bin Medya, Mr. Abdullah bin Ali Al Shafar, Mr. Abdullah bin Ali Al Sharhan and Mr. Muhammad Abdullah Al-Badour, and they made strenuous efforts to embody the idea as a living reality, and it was known at the time as the Al-Urwa Al-Wuzzari Association No. 28 / 2 for the year 1980, when the goals of the Al-Urwa Al-Wuthqa Association were limited to the care of orphans and it practiced its activities for a period of time and the concerns of Muslims were increasing day by day, which made it necessary to expand the activity of the association in line with the urgent needs of the reality of Muslims, so the association was re-publicized by Ministerial Resolution No. 85 For the year 1994 under a new name, which is the Dubai Charitable Society, with more comprehensive and wide objectives, and the Dubai Charitable Society became one of the associations of public interest.
